How long have you been with the band?*

9 years

What inspired you to start playing a brass instrument?

I learnt at The Salvation Army and wanted to join the band

What do you enjoy the most about brass banding/ music in general?

The musicianship, the friendship - music keeps me active both physically and mentally.

What is your favorite time of year with the band and why?

I enjoy all year - I love playing a concert programme

Why did you choose the instrument you currently play?

It chose me!

Within the world of brass banding and music, what would your lifetime goal look like?

To make the most of the music and most of all enjoy making music for others to enjoy

Has any one person or band inspired you, and if so how?

I think we can all inspire each other

What is your favorite music to play with the band and why? (Marchs, hymns, current music etc.)

I like to play a variety of music, some up-tempo, some traditional brass band and some current music - whatever suits the occasion.

What do you feel makes Harworth Brass unique from other bands or

why did you choose to play with Harworth Brass?

I was asked to help the band out as a dep, and then asked to stay as a regular player - the relaxed friendly atmosphere within the band is unmatched anywhere else, but the band works hard to make great music and is a great band family - thank you.

If you had the opportunity to learn another instrument (brass or non brass) what would it be and why?

Piano - always wished I had learnt as a youngster. Such a versatile instrument

What is your favourite memory or occasion from your time with Harworth Brass, and what made it special to you?

Too many to mention - lots of fabulous memories
